What a wonderfully cozy and inviting surprise! I was staying at a nearby hotel, where the complimentary breakfast looked… how shall we say… like it had given up on life. So I wandered next door and landed in breakfast heaven. From the moment I stepped through the door, the Black Bear Diner felt like a hug in restaurant form. I waited no more than two minutes for a table—just enough time to admire the rustic charm—and within seconds of sitting down, I was handed a hot cup of coffee. Immediate brownie points. Or should I say, biscuit points? The menu, printed on nostalgic newsprint, not only showcases the hearty offerings but shares a bit of the diner’s backstory—a thoughtful touch that made me feel part of something a little bigger than just breakfast. I ordered the two-egg ham and cheese omelette, which was the just right Goldilocks of omelettes—light, flavorful, and generous without being overwhelming. On the side: hash browns cooked to that crispy golden finish we all secretly dream about, and a fluffy biscuit that practically begged for jam (I obliged, of course). All in all, Black Bear Diner turned what could’ve been a lackluster morning into a genuinely lovely experience. Good food, good vibes, and good coffee—what more could one ask for?

Service was solid—friendly, quick, and made the experience even better. Only thing is, it can get packed, so don’t be surprised if there’s a wait during busy times. Overall, it’s a great spot when you want something filling, comforting, and worth your money. I’d definitely come back.

Had a great time over there. Customer service was amazing, food was absolutely fresh and delicious and the desserts were crafted by angels themselves. 10 out of 10, would recommend.

From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. The Black Bear exceeded all expectations with its incredible food and warm ambiance. We started with the French Toasts, which was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. For the main course, the waiter JJ recommended steaks was a standout—perfectly cooked, with a balance of spices that left us wanting more. The milkshake was the perfect ending, rich and indulgent without being overly sweet. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the chef’s expertise was evident in every bite. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. We highly recommend BlackBear to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!Thank you very much, JJ!

Quick service, family type of atmosphere, good prices but overall the food ripsss There’s other locations but this one specifically 10/10 If u like biscuits and gravy i swear this location offers the best one. their biscuits are insanely big, soft, and just everything u picture in a homemade biscuit. I come from Fresno and drive to this location because they serve the better biscuits.

This is like a cousin of the franchise Dennys. You know how much I like dennys. The price is right for the amount of food and I always enjoy the classic america breakfast type meals. Today I had the chicken sausage scramble which was delicious. With some sourdough bread and tobasco. This hit the spot. The waitress deserves the tip. They were attentive and constantly stopping by. This is one of the places to eat at once in awhile it. P.s. try the French toast so bomb lol. Will be back

Usually, servings this large seem to come at a hit to qualify (or increase in cost). Black Bear Diner has dodged that - and puts out really excellent food at a reasonable price, in a building that's clean, charming, and staffed with friendly helpful staff.
